The Federal Government has warned the international community not to interfere in the ongoing #EndBadGovernance protests in the country.
The government also sought support from the international community in addressing economic challenges and improving the living conditions of Nigerians at home and abroad.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, made the call when he briefed Members of the Diplomatic Corps on government programs and policies on Wednesday in Abuja.
He assured the international community that the government would do its best to protect its citizens.
The minister stressed that the government would not tolerate foreign interference in the protests.
Tuggar said: “While the government continues to work hard through various reforms to address the challenges facing Nigeria and its citizens, it is important to note that no country tolerates foreign interference in its internal affairs and citizens.
“The government will take appropriate action against any foreign entity domiciled in Nigeria that is found to be directly or indirectly supporting the protesters in any way or attempting to interfere in the internal affairs of the country.
“Nigeria values and will continue to value the cordial relations that exist between itself, your country and your organisation and will not do anything that could undermine or disparage those relations.

“More than ever, we seek your understanding and cooperation in the government’s ongoing efforts to address the economic challenges facing the country.
“We are determined to achieve a better life for every Nigerian citizen, both at home and abroad.”
He assured diplomats that President Bola Tinubu understood the pain and frustration that fueled the protests and had sympathized with the families of those who died in the protests and promised to address the concerns of Nigerians.
The minister reiterated Tinubu’s appeal, especially to the youth, and advised them not to allow violence and destruction to divide the country.
He recalled that Tinubu had led the campaign against military dictatorship in Nigeria in the 1990s and believed in Nigerian democracy that freedom of assembly, freedom of expression and the right to dissent were fundamental.
“While acknowledging that there have been many dashed hopes in the past, Tinubu asserted that Nigeria is in a new era of New Hope because the government is working hard.
“The results will be visible and tangible for all to see, feel and enjoy. The President has therefore directed the security agencies to continue to maintain peace, law and order in the country as the safety and security of all Nigerians is paramount,” the minister added.
