Nigerian defense spokesman claims troops killing terrorist dozens in 7 days

The Head Office of Defense (DHQ) claimed on Thursday that the troops were deployed to various operating theater in the country killing the dozen of the terrorist suspects in the last seven days.

Director of Defense Media Operations, Major. Markus Kangye, revealed this in a news briefing in Abuja.

He said the troops arrested 120 criminals and rescued 41 people who were kidnapped in operations carried out between September 14 and September 22.

Operations, according to Kangye, were carried out in northeast, northwest, north-middle, south-southeast and southeast.

The spokesman said: “In the northeast, the Hadin Kai operations forces neutralized several boko fighters in Haram and Iswap in Borno, Yobe and the state of Adamawa. They also arrested 26 terrorist collaborators and rescued three kidnapped victims.

“In the northwest, Yamma fan operating forces killed terrorists in Kaduna, Zamfara, Katsina, Kebbi and Sokoto states, and saved 14 kidnapped victims.

“A famous terrorist, Mallam Abubakar Ahmadu, along with six others, was arrested during the operation.

“In the north-middle, operating forces that last a long time in the highlands and Kaduna countries arrested 52 criminals, killed terrorists in the shootout and saved nine kidnapped victims.

“The Wirel Stroke operating forces in Benue, Taraba, Kogi, Nasarawa and FCT also killed criminals.

“They also arrested 17 others, including famous kidnappers, Saawuan Wuaiyolna, and saved eight kidnapped victims.

“In the south-south, a safe Delta Operations forces thwarted oil theft worth N19.75 million, destroyed 16 illegal purification locations, arrested 19 suspects and rescued five victims.

“Likewise, the Udo KA operation in the southeast killed several criminals, arrested six suspects, saved three kidnapped victims and recovering weapons, vehicles and improvisation explosives.”
