Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, has approved the elevation of eight Assistant Corps Marshals (ACMs) to the rank of Deputy Corps Marshals (DCMs) in the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). However, three senior officers have been directed to retire immediately.

In an announcement made on Monday, the FRSC Public Education Officer, Corps Commander Olusegun Ogungbemide, detailed the deployment aimed at filling vacancies across key geopolitical zones.

Those appointed are Deputy Corps Marshal Clement Oladele for North-Central, DCM Chidiebere Nkwonta for South-East, DCM Sunday Iyamah for South-South, DCM MR Yerima for North-West and DCM Abiodun Akinlade for South-West to fill the position currently occupied by DCM Bisi Kazeem, who is scheduled to leave office in August.

The retirements affect Corps Vice Marshal Kingsley Agomoh, Corps Vice Marshal Jonas Agwu and Corps Vice Marshal Zubairu Mato, who have served with distinction.

Senator Akume commended the transparency of the selection process and urged the newly appointed officers to redouble their efforts in achieving the FRSC’s mission of eradicating road accidents.

β€œWe must all work hard to fulfill the mandate of the Corps,” Mohammed concluded, underscoring the collective effort needed for road safety in Nigeria.
