Nigerian government redeem house promise to super eagles

The federal government has fulfilled the old promise of home to members of the Super Eagles victory who won the 1994 African nations (AFCON) in Tunisia.

Director and Head of Department, Public Building and Housing Development, Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Pemi Temitope, revealed this in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja by the Director, Press and Public Relations in the Ministry, Hariba Badamasi.

Temitope while symbolically handed over an allocation letter to Efan Ekoku, a striker in the team on behalf of the Minister of Housing and City Development in Abuja, said the allocation of housing units to winning team members was carried out in various states in Nigeria.

He said while some members accepted their homes in their respective states, others gathered them in Abuja.
The director said: “The government is committed to ensuring the fulfillment of promises and rewarding team members for their patriotic services that bring honor to the nation.”

Ekoku, who was represented by his nephew, Lisa Nwagbogun, praised the Nigerian government to fulfill the promise to the team.

He said: “I am very grateful to the Federal Government and the Ministry of Housing for fulfilling this old promise.

“It’s really encouraging to witness such commitments to integrity and follow-up. This movement not only respects services but also restores confidence in the value of public promises that are guarded.”

Former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2022 approved the allocation of houses to team members, with the aim of fulfilling the promises made by the late military regime General Sani Abacha in 1994.
