The Nationwide League One (NLO) has officially established on April 11, 2025, as the start date for its 2025/2026 season.
This was confirmed in the statement published after the annual general meeting of the League (AGM), which was held practically on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
In a movement to further strengthen the base football structure in Nigeria, Congress increased the participation rate of the ₦ 200,000 to ₦ 300,000 center, due to economic challenges.
“This rate covers the logistics of coincidences, including security, medical support, launch maintenance and compensation of party officials. However, the registration rate remains ₦ 300,000, which includes medical evaluations of players, registration, insurance and management costs of the Secretariat.
Outstanding AGM key
The Congress adopted the format of the Stadium League, which has been in force since 2021.
The Congress praised the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for its continuous support, which has provided NLO an enabler environment that operates effectively.
The Congress reaffirmed its approval of the 10 -year -old Master Plan, which was presented to the NFF in 2021.
The registration of the club will begin on Thursday, January 30, 2025, and will close on Friday, March 28, 2025.
In an attempt to stop the poaching of players and double record, Congress approved the installation of a facial recognition system on the club’s registration portal. This movement aims to improve transparency and maintain the integrity of players transfers into the League.
The president of NFF, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, praised the Board of NLO and the Secretariat for his dedication and progress in the League. He encouraged them to fight more achievements that will further improve the reputation of Nigerian football. Gusau also reaffirmed the NFF commitment to support the development of the league.
