A witness in the trial of the Biafra Indigenous Community Leader (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, on Tuesday, told the Federal High Court, Abuja, that the activist admitted that he incited community members to attack police officers during the interrogation.
Witnesses, State Service Department Operations (DSS), identified as BBB for security reasons, stated this when he was led in evidence by Federal Government Lawyer, Head of Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN).
BBB, who is a witness to the 2nd prosecution (PW-2), gave his testimony behind the scenes provided by the court.
The witness said that in addition to being the leader of IPOB, Kanu was also the founder of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), a separatist armed wing.
He said Kanu also operated illegal radio stations, which were broadcast on frequencies of 102.1 FM and 88.0 FM.
BBB told the court that radio was illegal because it was not licensed by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC).
When the lawyer asked the witness whether he had met with Kanu, he said he knew Kanu when he was assigned to take his statement on July 17, 2021 after a letter from the Attorney General Federation (AGF) who requested that the IPOB leader be investigated in connection with the alleged terrorist activities.
Operative DSS said the AGF letter was addressed to the Director General of Services.
