The new Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) has just come down hard to the Federal Government for its handling of the new mass killing in the state of Benue, describing the response of the Tinubu Ball President as “lukem -nail,” “Unnespensia,” and without “basic human empathy.”
In a very statement that reads Thursday in Abuja, NNPP National Publicity Secretary, Ladipo Johnson, condemned the Brutal massacre of more than 200 Yelewata community in the Guma Regional Government, which was reported by the alleged Fulani herds.
“This is a terrible mass murder. More than 200 innocent Nigerians were slaughtered and property was destroyed without provocation. What was worse, needed federal government days to intervene meaningfully,” Johnson said.
The party questioned the seriousness of the administration of President Tinubu in handling what he called the ongoing “bloodshed” in the state of Benue, warned that the region continued to decline to be a field of murder due to the continuous government underbirth.
“It’s no longer enough to call for peace meetings in Abuja,” Johnson said, referring to the new Tinubu Presidential Stakeholder Forum in Makurdi. “The question he asked – ‘How could there be no arrest?’ – What are the Nigerians for years.

While acknowledging the importance of dialogue, NNPP refused meetings like cosmetics if they did not produce concrete results. This urges the federal authority to stop paying lip services to security and vice versa mobilizes intelligence resources and law enforcement to identify, capture, and demand those who are responsible for what they describe as terror government in the benue.
Perhaps the most spicy criticism came in response to what NNPP described as a disturbing satire from President Tinubu who might be considered by victims of such violence “negotiated” with their attackers.
“This idea makes no sense,” Johnson said. “What happens in the benue is not a simple land dispute or communal clash – it is organized in terrorism, and in some cases, the genocide border. How do you ask people who are grieved to sit and negotiate with killers?”
He continued, “Until the government recognizes this cruelty for what they really are – acts of terrorism – the massacre will continue to be out of control.”
NNPP also condemned what he claimed was a leaky direction from the President’s Assistant for Benue State Officials, urged the supporting groups to hold a “colorful procession” to welcome the President of Tinubu to Makurdi – even when the family launched a new tragedy.
“Beans like that in the middle of the tragedy show the lack of amazing empathy,” Johnson said. “How can people think right to hold a spectacle while hundreds of citizens die and people are grieving?”
The party concluded his statement by conveying condolences to the benue and urged the Tinubu administration to rise on empty rhetoric and act firmly.
“This moment requires courage and political will. President Tinubu must find it in him to refer to a shovel – not a big spoon,” Johnson said.
NNPP’s statement came in the midst of a greater public frustration over the recurring attacks on the benue and the failure felt from the state and federal authority to bring eternal security to the region.
