The National Working Committee (NWC) of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has dissolved the party’s executive committees in Bauchi, Benue, Gombe, Oyo and Taraba States.
In a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja, NNPP National Publicity Secretary, Ladipo Johnson, said the dissolution affected the entire executive structure of the party from the district to state levels in the affected states.
He said the move was part of a resolution reached at the end of the NWC emergency meeting held on Thursday in Abuja.
Johnson said the move was intended to reposition and revitalize the NNPP in the affected states.
According to him, the regional management that was dissolved will be replaced with a temporary management in accordance with the party’s mandate.
He said the decision was in accordance with Article 14.2.1 (iv, v) and 15.2.1 (xvi) of the Party’s Articles of Association which were amended on April 6, 2024.
“The executive committee dissolved in accordance with the party’s constitution will be replaced by an executive committee, which will be announced in a few days, for a specified period.”
