Bashir El-Rufai, one of the sons of former Kaduna state governor Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has delivered a secret message that many believe is addressed to President Bola Tinubu seeking his re-election in 2027.
In a post on his X account on Wednesday night, a forthright Bashir said no one was too big to be voted out of office by voters, adding that it would happen without any consequences.
He went on to say that even the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank would not be able to save those who depend on them.
He also advised the public to forget all the intimidation that came one after another, and asked them to be more patient.
“No one is too big to be voted out of office by the people. It will happen & wallahi nothing will happen. So forget all the intimidation that is coming and going. Let’s be patient,” Bashir wrote.

“Even the IMF & World Bank won’t save you then. Political strategists. That’s for Lagos,” he added.

Hours later after many commentators insinuated that Bashir was referring to Tinubu, he made a follow-up post in which he said he did not mention any names in his previous post.
He added that no one would force him to support what he described as a total failure of governance disguised as a useless and dangerous ethnocentric political strategy.
“I am not mentioning names, but because of their guilt, they already know who we are talking about. Wallahi, none of you will force anyone to support this utter failure of governance disguised as a useless and dangerous ethnocentric political strategy.”
