A spokesman for the FIFA World Soccer Governing Agency has revealed the reason behind the delay in making public the trial on South Africa presenting an inelegable player in the World Cup qualifiers, reports Owngoalnigeria.com.
South Africa introduced an inelegable player in Teboho Mokoena in the 2-0 victory over Lesotho during the last round of games, when it was supposed to be suspended after choosing two yellow cards in previous games.
Acts in this way is generally accompanied by a three -point deduction, three goals, but in the case of South Africa there has been a delay in the incidence, which occurred in March and with the next round of games in September there is still no update on the trial.
Nigerian journalist Ay Osasu Obayiuwana spoke with a FIFA spokesman about the delay and gave his explanation. “The matter must be before the FIFA disciplinary committee. They do not tell the administration what cases they have before, since they are independent,” he explained.
“We will only listen to their decision when they have made it. If they have not made a pronouncement before the next South Africa match in September, I will encourage him to ask why a decision has not been made on this matter,” said the FIFA source.
