The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has responded to calls by Nigeria for the arrest and prosecution of a former Delta Niger militant leader, Head of the Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo, for spraying Naira’s notes at this new event in the region.
The former militant leader was seen in a viral video spraying video from Naira at the event.
Videos appear on social media on Sundays.
Many Nigerians, including celebrities, have been arrested and prosecuted by the Anti-Call Agency because of the misuse of local currencies in the past.
Part 21 (3) of the Central Bank of the 2007 Nigerian Law (as changed) stipulates that “spraying, dancing or matching any nira or records issued by the bank during social events or whatever is the harassment and reduction of the naira or tone and will be punished based on the law by the final or recipient of both.
EFCC consistently warns the spraying or mutilation of currencies, labeling criminal violations based on Nigerian law.

After the video became viral, many Nigerians wondered why Tompolo was not arrested and charged with courts such as the controversial cross dresser, Idris Olangeju Okuneye alias Bobrisky, who was arrested in 2014 and was sentenced to six months in prison for harassing Naira.
Other celebrities such as Lagos Socialite, Emeka Okonkwo Daniel, who is known as E-Money, was also captured last by EFCC for allegedly abusing the currency for allegedly spraying the United States dollar while the Nollywood actress, YaBo Ojo, and the same comedian, Ayo Makuun (Ay), arrested and arrested by Yejo Ojo, and comedian, and comedian, ayo makun (ay), arrested and arrested Yabo Ojo, and come on, come on Makuun (AY), arrested and captured by YaBo, and comedian, ayo makun (ay), arrested and arrested Ihbo, and comedian, ayo makuun (ay), arrested and captured by Yaze, and comedian, Ayo Makun (Ay), arrested and arrested.
