Nottingham Forest has reached a mutual agreement with Emmanuel Dennis to terminate the player’s contract.
Originally, his agreement would be extended until 2026, but the striker is no longer part of Nuno Espírito Santo’s plans.
Forest announced the decision on its official social media platforms, declaring:
“Nottingham Forest can confirm that Emmanuel Dennis has left the club after the mutual termination of his contract. We wish Emmanuel the best for the future.”
Dennis joined Forest from Watford in August 2022, making 25 appearances and scoring six goals. However, he spent much of his time with loan reds.
The Nigerian striker made three separate loan spells: in Istanbul Başakşehir, a second period in Watford, and more recently Blackburn Rovers, where he spent the last half of last season.
None of these clubs chose to sign it permanently, since their performances were considered below expectations for a professional player.
Dennis and his agents now face the task of finding a new club, without arriving this summer. A possible movement towards a newly promoted Turkish team could help relive your career.
The 27 -year -old has won only eight caps for Nigeria. It was called by the former Super Eagles coach, Augustine Eguavoen, for the 2021 Africa Nations Cup, the season in which he was relegated with Watford.
However, the club refused to release him, claiming that the Nigeria Football Federation had submitted the application too late. Dennis appeared for the last time for the Super Eagles in a friendly 2022 against Portugal.
