NPFL: Bendel Insurance debunk Tanimu’s transfer to Spain – Blueprint Newspapers Limited

Bendel Insurance FC have come out to debunked the circulating news that their central defender Benjamin Tanimu has sealed a move away from the club to Spain.

The Edo-based club in an official statement made available to Blueprint Sport on Wednesday disclosed that there is no iota of truth in the transfer of Benjamin Tanimu to Spain.

“Our attention has been drawn to the fake news that our central defender Benjamin Tanimu has left us for a Spanish Football Club Lleida Esportiu.

“To put the record straight, the information saying that Benjamin Tanimu has signed for Club Lleida in Spain is false and misleading. We therefore urge football lovers, Bendel Insurance, and the general public to disregard the social media reports.”

“For the avoidance of doubts, several clubs in Spain, Turkey, England, Germany, Serbia, Qatar, and Kuwait have indicated an interest in the defender but no club, including Lleida or any other club abroad, has officially tabled any deal nor reached an agreement with Bendel Insurance FC in that regard.

“Bendel Insurance management meanwhile has given Benjamin Tanimu’s agent the authority to negotiate his personal terms with the interested club on its behalf while the player continues his work on the field with Bendel Insurance. Tanimu’s agent is yet to submit any official transfer deal let alone signing any deal.

“Benjamin Tanimu remains an integral part of the Bendel Insurance team and he is in camp with other members of the strong squad preparing for the CAF Confederation Cup match against RS Berkane on the 16th of this month.

“If any deal comes through for Benjamin, we will make it known to the general public”, The statement ended
