He Nigeria Women’s Soccer League (NWFL) He has announced the immediate return of the NWFL throughout the country for the 2025 calendar season, marking its first campaign since 2023.
The national country, which is the third level of the Women’s Soccer League in Nigeria, was last held in 2023 before being discarded in 2024 and replaced by the now suspended League of the States.

Speaking about the development on Tuesday, the NWFL Operations Director Modupe Shabi, accredited Nationwide’s return to the recommendation and approval of the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
“The restoration of the NWFL throughout the country is a significant step to strengthen the female football pyramid in Nigeria, thanks greatly to the NFF Board led by President Ibrahim Gusau,” Shabi said.
“As the third level, plays a vital role in discovering and promoting talent, giving more clubs and basic players the opportunity to compete, grow and aspire to the highest levels of the game.”
The NWFL COO has urged all interested clubs throughout the country to complete its registration within the stipulated period by sending tickets to operations@thenwfl.com
Registration begins on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, and closes on September 26, 2025, without late tickets.
The NWFL throughout the country will be extended from October 3 to 12, 2025, with the host place that will be announced in due time.
