In the wake of pulsating action and a photo-finish title decider in this yearβs Super-6 of the Nigerian Women Football League (NWFL), a top technocrat of the round leather game, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi has predicted that the country will soon rule the world of female soccer.
Majekodunmi, who is the chairman of Ogun State Football Association and an executive committee member of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), served his positive projection while rating the 2024 NWFL Super-6 high.
He praised the NWFLβs board for organising what he rated as a highly befitting and competitive contest worthy of Nigeriaβs image as a leading nation in the realm of womenβs football across Africa.
The erudite football administrator further hailed the NWFL for successfully completing their 2023/2024 season, with Edo Queens of Benin City eventually emerging champions β ahead of joint-second Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt and hosts, Bayelsa Queens of Yenagoa.
Majekodunmi added: βIt is a great achievement. It showed that the Nigerian Women League is really getting stronger and more competitive.
βWatching the Super-6 gave me an assurance that the leadership position we have in Africa is coming back strongly.
βWith the quality of our league, the players available, and how it is developing, we have an assurance that we will take over the world very soon.
βThe NWFL board has done a very good job. It is good that we keep encouraging one another in order for us to keep improving.β
