NWFL Women’s empowerment champions in football on International Women

This International Women’s Day, Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) proudly reaffirms their commitment to advance women in sports and beyond, adopting the theme ‘Action of accelerating’.

Football is more than a game: it is a powerful platform to break barriers, create opportunities and inspire future generations. The NWFL is dedicated to promoting a real change, advocating equal opportunities and ensuring that all girls and women have the necessary support to prosper.

Under the leadership of the president of the NWFL, Nkechi Obi, the League remains firm in its mission. Despite the challenges, NWFL focuses on accelerating the action on key initiatives to build a sustainable and prosperous women’s soccer league in Nigeria.

“As we celebrate International Women’s Day, we ask all interested parties to join us to move forward, challenge the status quo and accelerate progress towards a more inclusive and empowered future for women in football,” said the NWFL.
