Stop importing non-indigenes: Obaseki, PDP warned to stop electoral manipulation in Edo State
Press release
For immediate publication
The All Progressives Congress (APC) New Media Directorate has uncovered a disturbing plan orchestrated by Governor Godwin Obaseki and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to compromise the integrity of the upcoming elections in Edo State.
Credible information reveals that Governor Obaseki is mobilizing individuals at various bus parks in the state, with a specific focus on bringing in non-indigenes from the North to manipulate the voting process. This sinister plan aims to flood polling stations with outsiders, thereby disenfranchising legitimate APC supporters and corrupting the electoral process.
The APC New Media Leadership strongly condemns this blatant and undemocratic tactic of the PDP. We will not tolerate any attempt to import voters or deny the people of Edo the right to freely and fairly choose their leaders. Governor Obaseki and his party must immediately stop this illicit scheme or they will face serious legal consequences.
Our commitment to free, fair and credible elections remains unwavering. We call on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to act swiftly to monitor these developments and ensure that no outside interference jeopardises the sanctity of the vote.
We call on Edo people to remain vigilant and protect their votes. Stand firm against the deceptive tactics of the PDP and come out in force to ensure that your future is secured under the leadership of Senator Monday Okpebholo and the Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa.
Governor Obaseki, the Edo people and the nation are watching closely. Refrain from these underhanded tactics, as democracy will not be subverted under our watch.
Signed,
Osigwe Omo Ikirodah
Director, New Media Directorate APC
