Obi condemned the Katsina Mosque attack, Tinubu’s Security Handling Mistake

The former presidential candidate from the Labor Party (LP), Peter Obi, has condemned the murder of 13 worshipers in the attack of violence against a mosque in the Malumfashi regional government in Katsina’s state, describing the incident as another failure of the Tinubu government to overcome the uncertain sense of Nigeria.

The attack occurred in the early days of Tuesday when the armed bandits surrounded a mosque in the village of Manta Unguwan and fired shots on the worshipers. At least 13 people were killed, while some others suffered injuries. The report shows that the attack may be a retaliation attack on the community.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Obi described the murder as “unacceptable,” emphasizing that the tragedy underlined the value of reduced human life under the current government.

“The murder of innocent souls is unacceptable, especially when it involved people who went to worship their creators,” said the former Governor Anambra. “This incident highlighted, once again, the extent to which human life has been demeaned in our society.”

The LP flag carrier in the 2023 presidential election also criticized the decision of all the progressive congress (APC), accused the government involvement in the security and socio-economic crisis of Nigeria.

“As long as we fail to overcome important social challenges such as unemployment, and as long as we continue to operate a system that encourages more people into multidimensional poverty, we will continue to experience this bad consequence,” Obi said.

He gave a condolence to the families of the victims and the broader Muslim community in Unguwan Manta, Malumfashi Lga.
