Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi has dismissed a trending video accusing him of declaring war on northerners, describing the video as a manipulated, deliberate and well-orchestrated attempt by some people to blackmail him to suit some of their evil agendas.
Obi who reacted to the video in a post on his X account on Friday, said that the dubious moves by some people have led to the circulation of a fake video of his recent keynote speech at the inauguration of Rotarian, Professor AU Nnonyelu in Anambra State.
In a series of tweets, the former Anambra state governor said those who carried out the crime had twisted the video to suit their motives to give the impression that he had declared war on Northerners.
He added that the false statements were part of a larger blackmail narrative, aimed at fitting him into their evil agenda.
βI have seen some deliberate and planned attempts by some people to blackmail me into following some of their evil agendas,β Obi said.
βTheir dubious actions have led to the circulation of a fake video of my recent keynote address at the inauguration of Rotarian Professor AU Nnonyelu in Anambra State.
βThey have twisted the video to suit their motives, which is to imply that I have declared war on the Northerners, when in fact I was talking about declaring war on economic stagnation, insecurity and corruption.

βAnother video circulating online, purportedly showing me leading a protest in Abuja, is also false.
βThe video was actually taken during my visit to the Labour Party Headquarters, where I was mediating a clash between the Labour Party and the NLC.
βThe video was intentionally edited to create a false narrative, and those responsible have been paid to spread this misinformation.
βThis kind of misinformation has no place in our democracy, where truth and honesty should prevail.
βThis misunderstanding is part of a larger blackmail narrative, aimed at fitting me into their evil agenda.
βI remain committed to realizing a new Nigeria where justice, equality and concern for the citizens will prevail over the greed of a few.β
I have seen some deliberate and well-organized attempts by some individuals to blackmail me into following some of their nefarious agendas. Their dubious moves have led to the circulation of a fake video of my recent keynote address at the inauguration.
