Human rights lawyers and activists, Deji Adeyanju, have described the presidential candidate from the Labor Party in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi, as a political prostitute, and his supporters are known as obedient as a toxic mass.
Adeyanju, who was a guest in the interview program at Channels Television on Friday, also accused that the former Governor of the State Anambra tried to offer money to him during the buildup for last year’s election so he could vote for him.
Activists who also talked about the threat of a lawsuit by Obi’s lawyer for several insulting posts that he had made on social media against Obi, said the legal team and Obi could do the worst because he was not afraid to meet them in court, insisting that the truth remained a legal defense in the defamation case.
Speaking broadly, Adeyanju said:
“In the buildup of the 2023 general election, because I am not politically, I only reveal my thoughts about how and why the opposition must unite and unite against the APC Criminal and naughty government.
“I always say that if the opposition remains divided, there’s no way they can win. I only express my political view as a Nigerian.
“The idea of Obi’s nomination made me excited, and I said that he needed the purchase of Atiku Abubakar and Rabiu Kwankwaso. I even urged Kwankwaso to represent Obi, and I urge Atiku to resign for Peter Obi.
“Obi Gigih in trying to contact me when I was abroad. Finally, one of his aide, a journalist, facilitated the meeting. At the meeting, Obi praised me and said it would be fun to work together. I told him that I did not work with anyone.
“The discussion then turned to the problem of alleged corruption involving Obi, including the claim that he invested state resources in the family business while serving as Governor of Anambra.
“I was stunned by his defense. His justification made me disgusted. When I was preparing to leave the meeting, Obi stepped into another room and returned with an envelope, insisted it was a small thing to come.
“I laughed and told him that he did not know me. I did not collect things like that. If any, I brought money to support the goal. I refused and left”. Adeyanju stated.
He narrated further that he had never revealed the incident until Obi’s maids then accused him of demanding N200 million from LP candidates, an accusation he described as fake and evil.
“After that, obidient masses became out of control. They threatened judges, harassing artists, insulting Prof. Wole Soyinka, and attacked anyone who criticized Obi. We have never seen such toxicity in Nigerian politics except under Buhari.
“Obi is a political prostitute, fraud, parade as a Messiah. Didn’t he swear not to leave APGA? But he left. Today, he has one foot at the PDP, another at the ADC, and still in the labor party. That is a political prostitute. If he wants to do the worst, let him,” Adeyanju said.
