Obi is a political worker, he will get rid of LPs like Okupe, Balami —Bwala

Former spokesperson of Presidential Campaign Council Atiku Abubakar for the 2023 presidential election, called the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), a political worker who will soon oust the LP.

Bwala who had earlier dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in protest against its Muslim-Muslim ticket for the election and pitched camp with Atiku and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in a post on his X account on Thursday, said Obi started his political career with the PDP before moving to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and back to the PDP before pitching camp with the LP, arguing that such regular crossovers showed signs of a worker who moves from one party to another for what he wants to gain.

Bwala was reacting to the defection of aviation expert and young activist, Isaac Balami, who announced his defection from LP to APC on Wednesday.

Balami, a former Deputy National Campaign Manager for the Obi/Datti campaign organisation, while speaking to journalists in Abuja, said he would return to the APC, the party he left for the same Muslim-Muslim ticket.

In his post, Bwala said Obi will soon close Doyin Okupe and Balami roads by removing LP.

“Yesterday it was Doyin Okupe, today it is my brother Isaac Balami, mark my words, tomorrow it will surely be Kenneth Okonkwo, for two reasons:

“As patriots, see the urgency to unite with our president in these difficult times as he steers the ship of Nigeria. The Labour Party is an SPV and not a political party.

“This serves as a lesson to the so-called “Obidients”; that no matter the threats and intimidation they receive, Nigerian citizens will continue to exercise their right to associate as enshrined in our constitution.”

“@PeterObi will also leave Labour Party at some point. If you call people who exercise their associational rights political workers, then your hero Peter Obi is the grandfather of ‘political workers’ who started from PDP to APGA to PDP to Labour Party and now in talks with PDP.
