Nigeria’s Blessing Oborodudu lost in the semi-finals of the 68kg freestyle wrestling at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Oborodudu made it two Olympic semifinals on Monday morning when he defeated France’s Koumba Larroque 6-2 in a hard-fought quarter-final clash.

But the Nigerian star will now battle for a bronze medal after she lost 3-1 to Kyrgyzstan’s Meerim Zhumanazarova in the semi-finals.

The bout was a rematch of their meeting at the Yasar Dogu championship in 2022, where Oborodudu won 3-2 to win the gold medal.

Unfortunately, this time Oborududu struggled to gain momentum after clashing heads with his opponent early in the game, and it affected him in the second half of the match.

Currently, Oborodudu still has a chance to win a medal, and he will compete again for the Bronze medal on Tuesday.
