As the Super Falcons prepare for a crucial confrontation against the Moroccan hosts in the 2025 final Women’s African Nations Cup (WAFCON)President of the Ogun State Football Association, Alhaji Ganiyu Majakodunmi, has applauded Governor Dapo Abiodun for his firm support for the Nigerian women’s national team.
Speaking before the very expected final game, Majakodunmi praised the constant support of Governor Abiodun, emphasizing that his participation has positively influenced the morals and performance of the team throughout the tournament.

“Governor Abiodun has demonstrated a true commitment to the growth of women’s football in Nigeria,” Majakodunmi said. “His efforts have not gone unnoticed, and have contributed to the impressive team of the team to the final.”
He highlighted the role of the governor at the beginning of the year when Ogun State was the host of the Super Falcons for a friendly before Wafcon against Cameroon at the Mko Abiola International Stadium in Abeokuta, a match that the Falcons won 2-0. Majakodunmi described the event as a moral reinforcement and a strong message of belief in the female game.
“That moment was more than a game,” he said. “It was a significant gesture that strengthened team resolution and inspired trust before the tournament.”
Expressing confidence in the possibilities of the Falcons, the head of Ogun FA declared that the whole state is gathering behind the team, hoping that they will bring the tenth Wafcon title that extends home home in Nigeria.
“We are proud of what the Super Falcons have achieved so far,” he said. “With the continuous support of Governor Abiodun, the future of women’s football in the state of Ogun and Nigeria seems even brighter.”
The Super Falcons face Morocco tonight in Rabat, with hopes throughout the country for another historical triumph in the continental stage.
