Ogun will hold local council elections on November 16

The Ogun State government has set November 16 for general elections in the 20 local government areas of the state.

Chairman of the Ogun State Independent National Electoral Commission (OGSIEC), Babatunde Osibodu, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Abeokuta.

He said guidelines for the elections would be released on August 8 while campaigning by political parties would begin the next day.

Osibodu said: “Political parties are also scheduled to hold their party primaries between Monday, August 26, and Monday, September 9, 2024.”
