The Council of Apex of the leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the development area of the local council of Ojokoro (LCDA) has reaffirmed Mr. Mobolaji Sanusi as a candidate for the presidential consent for the state of the local government of 12 July 2025 in the State of Lagos.

The Conclave reports that Sanusi, which is described as a leader of the faithful party in the local government and in the state, has obtained a overwhelming support for the majority of the leaders of the party in the Council area.

His consent candidacy was the product of a democratic selection process, which was consumed through the vote of 15 out of 18 leaders who expressed interest in the presidency ticket.

Sanusi received the approval of 11 out of 15 leaders who voted, a result that resounded with the members of the APC in the area council. It also largely represents the most popular will on the party for the presidency position.

Therefore, the leaders rejected an alleged list of presidency that was reported in a manner presented to the president of the state party, the shepherd Cornelius Ojelabi, declaring that he was not coming from a valid quorum of the Council Apex Council.

Significantly, the leaders reiterated Mr. Sanction as an ap of consentC candidate for the presidency for Ojokoro.

Their reaffirmation derived from their previous adoption of Sanusi by the majority of the council leaders in a series of leadership meetings previously held.

In a letter addressed to the President of State and dated May 2, 2025, entitled “Clarifications in an alleged list of presidency presented to the President of the State of the APC by an Ojokoro group”, two important homistor leaders (dried with two mandates, a two-semmers member by Hon. Benjamin Olabinjo (which represents the federal electoral college of IFAKO) was not valid.

The letter reads in part:

“We, the undersigned, are leader in good faith of Ojokoro Lcda. Our attention was drawn to an alleged list presented – potentially by the Hon. Benjamin Olabinjo – to the president of the state of the APC, the shepherd Cornelius Ojelabi.

According to informal sources and confirmations from the inside and from the outside of the APC secretariat in ACME, the list was presumably delivered through the Hon. James Faleke, representing the Federal Electoral College of Ikeja.

However, we categorically say that the list has not originated from a quorum of the Ojokoro Apex Council and should be discarded. “

The letter observed that the alleged list contains 20 names, while the list of leadership recognized by the EPC for Ojokoro consists of only 18 members.

The signatories questioned the addition of extra names, suggesting that they could be loyalist rather than recognized leaders, an act that described as “imitation that deserved a serious reproach”.

The leaders of the apex stressed that a consent was reached in previous meetings in which 12 of 18 leaders voluntarily adopted Mobolaji Sanusi as APC candidate.

Due to a conflict of interest, three leaders who are also aspiring – Fausat Olajokun, Rasheed Makinde and Mobolaji Sanusi – were excluded from the vote, reducing the quorum to the vote to 15.

Of these, 11 signed in favor of Sanusi.

“No reasonable person can doubt consent, with 11 out of 15 qualified leaders who adopt Sanusi as a candidate for the presidency of our party in Ojokoro,” underlined the letter.

They argued that this binding resolution, freely signed by 11 leaders, remained valid and could not be overwritten by a “reactionary” and “adulterated” list of 20 names.

The letter continued: “Despite the statements that some leaders who signed for Sanusi have also signed the alternative list, we claim that when two actions are the same, the first half prevails. Our list is the list of original and authentic consent.”

They provided the names of those who signed for the approval of Sanusi, including:

*Hipoola omnistor (member of the Chamber of the Shareholders’ Meeting State in two terms)

*Chief Olyomi Olaogun (respected elderly and politician in Lagos)

*Otunba Aremu Akindele (Pioneer President of Ifako-Ijaiye LGA)

*Adisa Owolabi (former member of the Chamber of repetitions)

*Emmanuel Olotu (current member of the Chamber of the Lagos State Assembly)

*Jelili Oseni (president of the Ojokoro’s APC and former councilor)

*Dr. Waheed Adeleke iPaye (former administrator of Ojokoro Lcda)

*Prince Adwale Bello (former president of the APC LG)

*AA Amosun (former president of the APC LG)

*Dr. Idris Salako (former Lagos State Commissioner)

*Hid Tijani (current president, Ojokoro Lcda)

*Fatimo Oye-Balogun (former Ojokoro leader)

They stressed that none of the leaders signed under coercion and urged the shepherd Ojelabi and the Hon. Faleke does not allow “some selfish individuals” to obscure their reputation or the image of the party.

“The list quickly was performed in bad faith and risks to create disunion. We urge the part to ignore it.

“Our list represents the true will of Ojokoro’s leadership APC and will resist any legal or moral control.”
