Okpebholo Rally Pemuda, swear to end the cult murder in Edo

The Governor of Monday Okpebholo from Edo State had vowed that his government would not resign in his struggle against the cult, stating that there was no threat or acts of intimidation that would prevent his government from protecting the lives of its citizens.

Overcoming a peaceful youth meeting in the Edo State Government Building on Tuesday, the Governor reiterated his commitment to end violence related to the cult that had claimed many lives and hampering the development of the country.

“If my life is not protected as a young man, I will not stand here today as the Governor of the State Edo,” Okpebholo told many people. “We must save our land. The cult must stop at Edo. Every blood of Edo is important to us, and not care about intimidation, this battle is total.”

The Governor warned that uncontrolled insecurity not only endangering lives but also a serious threat to the country’s economy. “There are no investors who will put money in an unsafe place,” he said. “The way to attract investment and building a prosperous Edo is to revoke the cult murder and send elements of violence from our community.”

Okpebholo also discussed the new demolition of this new building that was allegedly related to cult activities, emphasizing that the action followed the legal process. “We do not act recklessly. This is a firm and targeted effort. I am not afraid, and Edo people will not end this murder.”

The general meeting, organized by youth leaders and students from the three state senator districts, is a solidarity show with government anti-cult attitudes. Bringing a plaque and chanting the slogan, the young people made their message clear: they wanted to end violence.

Moses Joseph, Chairperson of the Nigerian National Youth Council (NYCN), the Edo State Chapter, voiced support from the Youth Community. “We are bored with the murder of the cult,” he said. “We support the Governor’s decisive action against cult and drug abuse. This general meeting is based on the resolution achieved by the leaders of students and youth throughout the state.”

He urged the state government to fully implement recommendations from their communication, emphasizing that only concrete steps that will produce significant changes.
