Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, on Wednesday appointed Andrew Momodu as the state commissioner, charging him to prioritize and protect the interests of the people.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the governor’s office, where Okpebholo congratulated Momodu and urged him to work closely with the administration to implement the government’s development agenda and improve the well-being of residents.
The governor described the new commissioner as a capable, hard-working individual who can contribute significantly to the administration’s push for good governance.
“I congratulate you. You are fortunate to arrive at a time when we are almost finished with the oath of commissioners. I know you are hardworking and capable, which is why we selected you for this responsibility,” the governor said.
He urged the new appointee to justify the trust reposed in him by working diligently to carry forward the policies of the administration and protect the interests of the people of Edo State.
Responding, Momodu thanked God and Governor Okpebholo for the opportunity to serve, describing the appointment as a rare privilege.
He pledged to remain committed to the administration’s programs and to support the governor in ensuring good governance for the people.
“I am here to embed the governor’s programs and add value to his administration. Governor Okpebholo is doing well and I am ready to support him to ensure that the people of Edo State benefit from the dividends of democracy,” Momodu said.
He assured residents that he will work collaboratively with the governor and other members of the executive council to promote development across the state.
