The city of Birmingham has confirmed the launch of the defender Femi Olofinjana, son of former super -eagles midfielder Seyi Olofinjana, after the expiration of his contract with the club.
The 20 -year -old was one of the ten young professionals appointed in the published list of the club published on its official website.
In a formal statement, the champion of the League one announced: “Ten young professionals have been released. Ben Beresford, Junior Dixon,
Taylor Dodd, Laiith Fairnie, Harley Hamilton, Josh Home, Femi Olofinjana, Sahid Kamara, Stoyan Pergelov and Oliver Sayer will leave the city of Birmingham after the expiration of their contracts. β
Olofinjana joined Birmingham City in the summer of 2023 after separating from West Brom, where he appeared prominently at the U18 level.
During his time in Birmingham, he was involved with the club U21 configuration as part of the professional development phase.
FEMI has eligibility to represent Norway, Nigeria and England, but chose to represent Norway at the youth level, making appearances for their U17, U18 and U19 teams.
His release marks a new chapter when the young defender seeks the next step in his professional career.
No announcement has been made regarding its immediate future.
