Oluwaymi offers triple gold for the Ogun team at the National Sports Festival

The blessing of the Ogun Oluwaymi team electrified the crowd at the Mko Abiola stadium in Abeokuta on Wednesday, ensuring the gold medal in the triple jump of men with an impressive jump of 15.67 meters in the continuum National Sports Festival.

Compeating in his homeland, Oluwaymi’s performance was not only a personal triumph, but also a great boost for the host team, which firmly put them in the center of attention as medal contenders in the athletics category.

His jump was enough to see a strong challenge of Erhayanmen Ohimai of the Edo team, who claimed silver with 15.27m, and Tobechukwu Emmanuel of the Oyo team, who assured the bronze with a jump of 15.19m.

The triple jump final was fiercely disputed, but Oluwaymi’s composure and technique made the difference, attracting strong cheers of the local crowd while sealed the victory in his final attempt.

“I am proud to bring this gold home to the state of Ogun,” said Oluwaymi after his victory. “The support of fans was incredible. Jumping here in Abeokuta, with everyone behind me, made this moment even more special.”
