Once again, the Governor of State Osun Ademola Adeleke has denied new rumors that show that he plans to defect the African Democratic Congress (ADC), expressly states that he remains loyal to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Rumors continue to follow the governor that he plans to throw PDP for another party. Initially, the rumors had suggested that he planned to defect to the decision of all Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement released on Wednesday by his spokesman, Olawale Rasheed, the governor rejected the report as a deliberate effort by political opponents to mislead the public and sow disputes.
He said, “Our attention has been focused on a report that the Governor of Ademola Adeleke plans to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC). The report is not only incorrect but also efforts calculated by those who are afraid of revenue governors that surge to create confusion and uncertainty in the minds of people from Osun countries,” the statement said.
Rasheed stressed that Governor Adeleke had no intention of leaving PDP, and any claim that suggested the opposite was entirely wrong. He stressed that the governor focused on governance and prepared a re -election offer under the PDP platform in 2026.
“We want to repeat the umpteenth time that Governor Adeleke remains committed to the people’s Democratic Party (PDP) and does not have any plans to join ADC or any party in this matter,” he said.

Highlighting Adeleke’s dedication for his mandate, the statement continued: “Pre-Duniamun Governor Adeleke is currently the shipping of sustainable democracy dividends to Osun people who eager to give them their mandate three years ago.”
With the 2026 governor election at the Cakrawala, the leaders of Adeleke and PDP have mobilized supporters as part of the ongoing voter registration effort. According to Rasheed, the Governor still believes in the strength of the party and the support of the people.
“More than that, Governor Adeleke and leaders in the PDP have been focused on the galvanization of the party structure for the ongoing voter registration ahead of the election next year, which he positioned well to win,” added the statement.
Rasheed urged the public to ignore further defense claims, reiterating Adeleke’s strong bond with PDP and people in the State of Osun.
“Therefore, we urge the public to ignore any report that connects Governor Adeleke with such a consolation movement is entirely wrong,” he said.
