Once again, ndumes urged Tinubu to handle the oblique allowances, warning the increasing political dissatisfaction

In the midst of increasing tensions in the ruling and increasingly dissatisfied parties in the entire region, Senator Ali Ndume, who represented the southern Senatorial District of Borno, had urged the President of the Ball Ahmed Tinubu to immediately discuss what he called as an oblique appointment in his government.

Speaking during an interview about politics today, a television program channel aired Friday night, the Veterans MPs expressed concern that the current federal appointment structure under the leadership of Tinubu violated the principle of federal character immortalized in the Nigerian Constitution.

According to him, the uneven key position distribution is at risk of triggering alienation and hatred in a tense political place.

“Seventy -two people appointed by Tinubu were Jorubas,” Nduume said sharply. “Part 14 (3) The constitution is very clear – the appointment must be spread in such a way that no tribe is left behind. Every part of the country deserves a sense of belonging.”

Ndume, he was a senior member of the All Progressives (APC) Congress, insisted that his statement was not encouraged by malice but by a deep concern for justice, unity, and the future of Nigerian democracy. He added that he did not believe President Tinubu deliberately marginalized other regions, but called for immediate corrective actions.

“You know why I spoke? Because I believe the President might not even be aware of this scale of imbalance. But now, almost two years in his term of office, clearly the gathering promises are tilted. This can still be improved – and surely,” he said.

Drawing parallel with the past, Nduume remembers facing the former President of Muhammadu Buhari for the same problem as the appointment of the head of his service. “I also criticized Buhari, and I did it openly. He gave me the reason. So this is not new – this is about doing what is right for this country.”

Beyond regional concerns, Senator warns the increase in internal dissatisfaction in the APC itself. He referred a recent statement by a prominent party member, including former Governor of Kaduna Nasir El-Rufai, who stated frustration because he was ruled out.

“Many APC members feel abandoned,” said Ndume. “They say they no longer have access to the president, and instead of meaningful involvement, the response from the presidency is to attack these people in the newspaper page. That is very dangerous.”

He stressed that every voting will be important in the next election, and warns that the wave of dissatisfaction that grows – if ignored – can be snowballs into a strong opposition coalition against Tinubu and APC.
