
The Lagos State Football Association has added to its success stories by ensuring the implementation of the MoU signed with the Nigerian Institute of Sports, on the certification of coaches who do not have the prerequisites and qualifications needed to obtain a state FA license.

Coaches from Lagos State were invited to the House of Football on Ogunlana Drive Surulere, Lagos to discuss this remarkable feat which aims to not only obtain coaching certification or licensing but also ensure international best practices.
NIS representatives, led by Registrar Belmond Benson, shed more light on the MoU with LSFA and encouraged all coaches to join this laudable initiative.
FA President Hajji Gafar Liameed acknowledged the important role played by the Lagos State Government under the leadership of Governor Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu and the Lagos State Sports Commission, in creating an enabling environment for the continued development of football through the rehabilitation and reconstruction of several stadiums in the State. He also stressed to the coaches on the importance of this partnership with NIS.
Hajji Liameed further revealed that the Lagos State Football Association and NIS have agreed that coaches who do not have any NIS certificate will pay a sum of 25,000 to undergo training and 5,000 to obtain Coaching Licence.
He added that the training will be conducted in batches and also promised that between now and the next two years, over 2,000 trainers will have been trained, certified and licensed to operate in Lagos State.
In addition, efforts will be made to collaborate with other Southwestern states in capacity building and obtaining uniform licenses to operate in the region.
