Onyaka opens disappeared Rwanda, Zimbabwe.

Frank Onyaka has revealed that he felt sad after he was abandoned from the final team of 23 men of the Super Eagles for Group C, 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.

Onyaka was initially included in the provisional team of 39 men from chief coach Eric Chelle for last month’s meetings.

But when the final list was launched, Brentford’s midfielder retired, currently under a loan in Augsburg.

The Super Eagles beat Rwanda 2-0 in Kigali and obtained a 1-1 draw with Zimbabwe in Uyo.

Reflecting on having been abandoned for double heading matches, Onyaka told Omasport TV how he felt.

“I was quite sad about that, but again the coach knows better, he knows what players he wants to use, but I hope that in the next games I am available, I am always available and I hope to be with the equipment.”

After day 4 and 5 in the World Cup qualifiers, the Super Eagles are fourth in group C at seven points, and are six points from the leaders of South Africa.

The following for the finalist of the Cup of Nations of Africa 2023 is a game at home against Rwanda on August 31 and a visiting draw with South Africa on September 7.

When asked if the three -time AFCon winners still have the opportunity to get to the tournament next year, Onyaka added: “I know we are in a difficult situation, but there is still a possibility for us, we only need to win our next four games and we hope we can qualify.”

The 27 -year -old could return to action for Super Eagles in the Unity Cup in May with Brentford Stadium organizing the four games.

In addition, I could face Russia in an international friendly game for June.

This season has made 25 appearances in the Bundesliga and has an assistance.
