Open AI, an American research organization, has acquired Rockset, an enterprise analytics business, to enhance AI capabilities and retrieval infrastructure across its products.
Former Facebook engineer Venkat Venkataramani, CEO of Rockset, which was co-founded by Database architects Dhruba Borthakur and Tudor Bosman confirmed the acquisition in a blog post on Friday.
According to OpenAI representatives, this acquisition marks the first time the organizations have combined the companies’ personnel and technology.

Financial details of the purchase were not disclosed. The Verge reports that Rockset has raised a total of $105 million to date.
The transformative potential of Rockset technology to assist individuals in turning their data into actionable insights was emphasized by Brad Lightcap, COO of OpenAI.
“Rockset Infrastructure empowers companies to turn their data into actionable intelligence,” Lightcap said in a statement.
“We are excited to provide these benefits to our customers by integrating the Rockset foundation into OpenAI products.”
