OPENAI develops a new coding agent for software development

American -made intelligence research organization, OpenAI, has launched an autonomous AI coding assistant designed to exceed only automatically or coding.

New AI coding agents, codex, can read and write files, use tools (such as web browsers or terminals), plan and manage complete coding work (such as creating applications or correcting bugs), and running sophisticated software development workflow using multi-step reasoning.

Although chatgpt is good enough in developing and explaining the code, especially when using GPT-4.5 or GPT-4-Turbo, this new AI agent is more independent and can deconstruct human instructions to be a smaller goal, carry out the steps themselves, and debug and increase their own work.

In a statement, Openai said: ‘Large companies have evaluated and adopted codex. Cisco is testing tools to speed up technical workflows, while superhuman uses codex to increase test coverage and enable non-engineers to contribute code changes.

” Kodiac, an autonomous vehicle company, utilizes codex to increase code reliability and get insight into complex piles of software. Temporal uses it for background assignments such as debugging and test writing.
