Opinion: Who wants an old Governor to resign – an answer

First of course. I know Dauda Lawal, Governor of the State of Zamfara, even though I haven’t talked to him since he served. This clarification is important because in Nigeria we have perfected the art of distracting from messages and releasing attacks on Messenger. This has become an unfavorable norm. It is also important to emphasize that the old Governor did not ask or pay me to write this answer. The answer is only a reaction from the Nigerian population who cares in the north, whose friends have been kidnapped and who are very angry by the tragic reality that our beloved country has never solved the main or small problems. Another reason is the painful truth that no one, even those who are currently moving with severe security, are truly immune from the consequences of failure to overcome problems that have made us a stock of laughter. If there is nothing safe, then adding my voice to those who call for defeat and not “technical degradation” from these terrorists are not only tasks, but enlightened self -interest.

It should be noted that the article published by Saturday Independent Newspaper does not have a byline, which confirms writing as a ax work, with a clear intention to lay the foundation for the declaration of the emergency mentioned. This is no doubt that the motives of the people behind the yellow article. In the same thing, it is important with the call for the resignation of a governor, there is no space for the anonymity and journalism that is responsible for demanding the attribution and resources that can be verified and not a hidden shadow satire in the “leading government official” that is not named.

For those who do not know the Governor of Dauda Lawal, it is important to emphasize that the Governor of Dauda is not a reckless person. So he did not make his statement lightly.

Lawal Governor deserves our praise to speak and, by doing that, forcing Nigerians to face the uncomfortable truth about our damaged security architecture and the situation of Zamfara, Benue, Plateau, Sokoto, Niger, Katsina stated that those who continue to bear the security challenges that cannot be implemented.

The Lawal Governor did not commit a crime because he acknowledged the limits of his power in overcoming security challenges in dealing with terrorist attacks that were incessantly. Apart from his political opponents who armed his factual statement, the President of the Tinubu Bola, of course, agreed with the Governor that there was a need for change. When receiving a delegation from the state of Katsina who like the state of Zamfara has a serious security challenge, the President acknowledged that there is an urgent need for the National Assembly to change the constitution to enable the formation of state police. Those who called for the Head of the Lawal Governor had to stop distracting from real problems and focusing on overcoming the damaged Federal Nigerian security architecture.

Did Governor Dauda Lawal give a war against all terror? Clearly, despite inheriting the country that has been flooded with bandits since serving, he has taken brave steps to fundamentally overcome problems within the boundaries of his office. His frustration is that he can’t do more. So it is said that he cannot be considered fully responsible for the war he did not order.

For the purposes of opposition and houses -clear media houses -clearly do not know the constitutional provisions in connection with the power of the federal government and the state in the control of the armed forces and the police; It is important to remind them that the Nigerian constitution provides total control of the military, police, and other security institutions exclusively in the federal government. And that the 36 Governor of the State does not have legal authority to mobilize security forces or get weapons. They were so helpless that they could not even direct a police commissioner, especially a military officer from one of the services. However, they are often responsible every time there are attacks.

As Governor Lawal said clearly, why is the security agent must wait forever for Abuja to give orders before the military can pursue terrorists who often never come? Is this not a confirmation that the governor is the head of the glorified security officer?

If the Governor was asked to resign because it stated this fact, then what about those who really control weapons and sadly fail to protect the Nigerians? Why did the Nigerians not ask for a federal government accountable under the President of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, mainly because the president campaigned with an appointment to recruit more personnel to allow the military to firmly make war against terrorism? What happened to the campaign promise? Where is the new recruitment, extended firing power, and political will to act? We are unable to continue playing ostrines because the terrorists become bolder.

Although there is no evidence that the Minister of State for defense, which happens to be a former Governor of the State and who has fought with the Lawal Governor sabotaged military efforts in the state of Zamfara, but we must not naively reject that possibility. It is the minister’s interest to join the governor regardless of their political differences to ensure that terrorists are defeated for the benefit of people who have suffered in the state. The Minister must not allow both people from the state of Zamfara to achieve the conclusion that the old Governor is being “punished” because of the brave steps he has taken to overcome the decay he inherited, especially the recovery of more than 40 vehicles he took after his defeat in the 2023 election and where the court supported the government to recover.

Nigeria must worry about military failure to defeat terrorists. They must ask the question, why the country that fought against the well -organized separatist soldiers now seemed unable or unwilling to defeat the terrorists? Could some people get a profit from the extension of the conflict while people suffer from countless difficulties? It is known that war created their own economy – intelligence contracts, increased procurement, and other shadow benefits. And that even in IDP camps that are moved by people from their homes, that women are known to be used before they can get rations for their families.

It is a fact that there will always be a personal interests that are politically or financially beneficial from bad situations. But they can “make” their money in other ways and not from the misery of the people.

It is very embarrassing that the governor such as older and radda from the state of Katsina is often left to beg for Abuja to spread military support, which never happened because the military has no numbers. It is important for Nigeria to recruit more men and women into the Security Service.

Those who refer to the sound of security as proof of negligence by the state loses points completely, because the Federal government receives more money than the state for national security and has not been able to defeat the terrorists.

It must be emphasized that the security sound is not a magic stick. They are for coordination and support, which are given by most governors. It has become routine for the state government to buy patrol vehicles, motorbikes, fuel, paying allowances for personnel and communication gadgets for federal security institutions that operate in their countries, even though they do not have constitutional obligations to do so. This is a fact that Ad-hoc’s support has indeed become a life line for orders that lack funds from various services. However, the governors were blamed when the terrorists attacked.

When the last time was the Inspector General of Police directly bought and distributed operational vehicles to state orders throughout the country? The burden in funding the war against terrorists has shifted calmly and unfairly to the Governor of the State, the same as the responsibility for failure when they are not responsible. This is completely unfair.

Britcry Governor Lawal is not a recognition of failure. This is a call for urgent reform. He never said he would not act, he just said he could not act decisively as he wanted because the law did not allow him to do it. How long will Nigeria continue to live with the tragedy of unity federalism?

Until now, the Federal Republic of Nigeria has not officially fought, but has more than 340 internal refugee camps (IDP), according to the 2023 National Statistics Bureau. Borno State itself has 221 camps that protect more than 877,299 people, while FCT has five camps with more than 150,000 people. This is not only their statistics is proof of the failure of the country.

Those who call for the resignation of the Governor Lawal must dare to tell the Nigerians correctly what crimes he did. Is the Governor Lawal asked to resign because he said the truth and nothing else but the truth? To demand constitutional reforms that have long been delayed? Or to refuse to remain silent when the people are kidnapped and killed? To dare to speak? And why did they not call for the resignation of the Lawal Governor Asking Governor Babagana Zulum from Borno State to resign? It is a fact that Governor Zulum is far more outspoken about the deteriorating security situation than the old Governor, but there has been no call for his resignation.

Nigeria must withstand disturbance. The Nigerians must hold the actual responsibility for the responsible terrorist defeat, blaming the governor who spoke not only unfair but also a dangerous disorder.

We must insist that the real problem is not the resignation of Governor Dauda Lawal, but whether those who have constitutional power to stop this bloodshed are willing to act to end this crisis. Until we hold the military that is more interested in building a responsible housing plantation, blaming the helpless governors not only evil but also evil. The real problem is a centralized security system that clearly fails the people.

In Nigeria, we complicated a simple problem and that is why we failed to solve the problem in the last 65 years. Prolonged rebellion is certainly worrying and must be defeated and immediately.
