Orban’s double gives Lyon a thrilling 4-3 win over Strasbourg

Super Eagles striker Gift Orban put in a match-winning performance. Lyonscoring twice to help his side to a thrilling 4-3 victory over Strasbourg at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais.

Lyon quickly fell behind, but Sebastian Nanasi put Strasbourg ahead in the third minute. Corentin Tolisso equalised for Lyon in first-half stoppage time, but the home side struggled early in the second half. Goals from Andrey Santos and Emanuel Emegha put Strasbourg 3-1 up in the 58th minute.

Lyon coach Pierre Sage responded by bringing on Orban in the 61st minute, a move that quickly paid off. Ainsley Maitland-Niles pulled one back for Lyon, making it 3-2 in the 61st minute. Just two minutes later, Orban levelled the score at 3-3, connecting on Alexandre Lacazette’s cross to get Lyon back into the match.

But Orban was not done yet. In the 72nd minute, the Nigerian striker scored again, heading in a cross from Malick Fofana to complete Lyon’s comeback, taking a 4-3 lead.

Lyon prevailed to claim victory, with a heroic performance from Orban likely to earn him a regular place in the starting XI. The win marked a significant turnaround after Lyon’s 2-0 defeat to Monaco last week, with Orban playing a crucial role in the team’s resurgence.
