Orders from the Women’s Detention Court accused of the Ponzi N13.8B scheme

The Federal High Court at Port Harcourt has returned a valuable Williams in detention after his indictment of alleged involvement in the Ponzi N13.8 billion scheme related to cheating investment operations.

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), in a statement issued on Monday, confirmed that Williams faced the cost of 14-calculations that included conspiracy, earned money with fake pretense, and money laundering.

Another accusation revealed that he was suspected of receiving N1,005 billion through a Polaris bank account under the Lelegend Nigeria Ltd., also related to a fraud investment scheme.

Williams claimed to be innocent for all 14 accusations during the court process. Following his request, the adviser EFCC Ek Bakam asked for the date of the trial and urged the court to return it in custody.

Meanwhile, the legal counsel of Tochukwu Maduka, San, told the court that the guarantee application had been submitted. However, Bakam opposed the request, on the grounds that the application was premature because it had been submitted before the allegations were changed and his indictment.

Chief judge, Judge Si Mark, decided that Williams was returned to the Port Harcurt Correctional Center and postponed the case until 17 June 2025, for a guarantee session.
