Osgof, Nachred strike agreement on hydroelectric development

The Surveyor General of the Federation (Osgof) and the National Center for Hydrawer Research and Development (Nachred) have signed a Memorandum of understanding (Mou) to increase hydroelectric development in Nigeria.

Speaking at the signature ceremony in Abuja, the director of Geodesy in Osgof, Survir. Duniya Magaji, which represented the general surveyor of the Federation, survives. Abduganiyu Adeyemmi Adbomehin, described the partnership as a long -awaited step to face the challenges in the sector.

“In this very important meeting of the signature of the Mou, the fact is that it is something that we can’t wait. Most of the offices that have problems is due to the lack of synergy and collaboration. Therefore, I am sure that what we are trying to do today, we believe that it will be fine for both. We have crossed the document and we can all agree on it,” said Magaji.

The agreement, launched after a successful presentation at the United Nations organization for industrial development (Unido), aims to strengthen the collaboration between the two institutions. Pursuant to the memorandum of understanding, Osgof will provide geospace data and services to support hydroelectric development at national level, while Nachred will contribute to his experience in research and technical innovation.

Azeez Afeez, he praised the recognition of the need for the need for small hydroelectric projects to integrate larger structures such as the dams of Kainji and Shiroro. He underlined the importance of mapping and survey data for the successful implementation of these projects.

The deputy director of Nachred, Dr. Toyin Olugbemi, who signed the memorandum of understanding on behalf of his agency, observed that the collaboration with Osgof was fundamental for the Mission of the Center. “When we work together we get better because no man is an island,” he said.
