Premier League club Chelsea are likely to miss out on signing Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen after his Italian club Napoli reached a huge transfer agreement with Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli worth €80 million.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have been tracking the Nigeria international all summer and are ready to bring in the 25-year-old on loan with an obligation to buy.
However, Al Ahli have also been long-time admirers of Osimhen and went one step ahead of Chelsea when they agreed a four-year deal worth around £33.6m (€40m) a season – or £646,154 a week – tax-free. The deal also includes a release clause.
The former Lille forward will undergo a medical at Al Ahli on Friday and will join the club Napoli most wanted for him.
In a post on X, Romano wrote:
“BREAKING: Napoli reach full agreement with Al Ahli for Victor Osimhen!
“The agreement between the clubs has been completed for a total package of €75/80 million, Al Ahli have ordered a medical.
“WVVorth four-year contract €25/30m per season net for Osimhen + release clause.
“The final green light for Victor.”
