Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen will now remain at Serie A club Napoli after he failed to secure a move to Chelsea on transfer deadline day.
The European summer transfer window closes at 23:00 on Friday and it is hoped that before the end of the day, Osimhen will have completed his move to Stamford Bridge.
However, according to Italian football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea’s delegation left Napoli because they failed to reach an agreement with Osimhen.
Chelsea have reportedly offered the player a contract worth โฌ155,000 per week, which is less than his current wages at Napoli and the player is unwilling to accept such a pay cut.

Meanwhile, Chelsea, looking to bolster their attack, have managed to sign Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho on loan until the end of the season.
The deal includes an obligation for Chelsea to sign the 24-year-old England international for between ยฃ20-25m next summer.
In another late move on transfer deadline day, Arsenal secured the services of Raheem Sterling from Chelsea on loan.
The 29-year-old has agreed a season-long loan with Mikel Arteta’s side.
However, for Osimhen, it is not certain what will happen to him because it is clear that the Nigerian international no longer wants to play for Napoli.
With the non-European transfer window still open for a few days, Saudi giants Al-Ahli could still secure a deal for Osimhen.
Al-Ahli, according to reports, have agreed a deal with Napoli but Osimhen is reluctant to move to the oil-rich country.
