The Osun State Chapter from the Congress of All Progressive (APC) has denied the Claims of Adeleke Governor Adeleke that he has never tried to defect from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), accused the governor to mislead the stakeholders of his party and the public.
In a statement released on Saturday by the Director of Media and Party Information, Kola Olabisi, APC accused that Governor Adeleke made a wise effort to join APC but was rejected because of his request for automatic governor tickets, a condition of party leadership reportedly refused.
The response occurred a few days after the Governor of Adeleke, when speaking to PDP stakeholders in Osogbo, rejected his planned purchase reports as “fake news” and link speculation with political rivals threatened by what he called “our extraordinary leadership performance.”
But APC emphasized that Adeleke’s statement was a deliberate presentation error. “It is unfortunate that Governor Adeleke failed honestly with PDP stakeholders, including respected party leaders such as former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Dr. Olu Alabi, Professor Wale Oladipo, and others,” the statement said.
According to APC, a high-level effort was made behind the screen-including the offer of influential figures in southwest and rich industrialists to facilitate the entry of Adeleke into the party. The party specifically referred to what he called the “request visit” by the Governor for the Head of APC statesman, Bisi Akande at his Ibadan residence.
APC said that national leadership is clear in its attitude: Adeleke will not be given special privileges, including direct tickets. “If Governor Adeleke is really confident in his popularity, why is he trying to defect to our party in the hope of getting an automatic ticket?” Olabisi asked, questioning Adeleke’s political position in PDP.

The party further claims that PDP in Osun weakened and bleeding every day, contrary to the Governor’s statement. This illustrates Adeleke’s term of office as far as a monumental disaster, “quoting a low allegation of performance in the main fields of government.
“We thank God that Governor Adeleke’s offer to join our party was thwarted. It would cause a serious division, friction, and internal crisis in our ranks,” the statement continued.
APC ended with a strong warning: “Governor Adeleke must withdraw fake narratives or take the risk of full disclosure from many failed efforts he made to get into our party.”
Governor Adeleke has not openly responded to APC accusations.
