Osun Deputy Governor Inspects Osogbo Stadium, Praises Maxwell Int’l Venture

The Deputy Governor of Osun State, Prince Kola Adewusi, has praised Maxwell Int’l Venture, as the renovation of the Osogbo Municipality Stadium progresses significantly.

Prince Adewusi, who also acts as Commissioner for Sports, on Tuesday conducted an on-site inspection of the sports facilities with his entourage.

At the initiative of Governor Ademola Adeleke, the Osogbo Municipality Stadium is undergoing a major refurbishment to achieve world class status.

Managed by Maxwell Int’l Venture, the project features two world-class soccer fields, several sports fields, a hotel and renovated athlete hostels.

Speaking to journalists at the sports complex, Prince Adewusi explained that the tour was aimed at assessing the level of work being carried out as the project nears its completion schedule.

“From what we have seen on site, a lot has been achieved. This project is particularly important for the sports development of our youth. The contractors informed me that they expedited the project according to our schedule.

“We do not want a situation where during the inspection of the track by the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), the international body, the IAAF, rejects it for not meeting the required standards. This is the reason why some race classification results were cancelled.

“I want them to accelerate action on the project as we want Osun United and Osun Babes to conduct the next football season in Osogbo. That is why we want to see a significant improvement in the facilities.”

Bow. John Ewule, Project Director of Maxwell Int’l Venture, assured the State Deputy Governor of the timely completion of the state-of-the-art project.
