Osun will host Nigeria’s table tennis elite in April

The ancient town of Otan Ayegbaju will be back in high spirits as it becomes Nigeria’s table tennis capital in April.

The iconic Idera Multipurpose Hall will host the 6th Michael and Felicia Alabi Memorial Table Tennis Tournament.

Founded in honor of the late Michael and Felicia Alabi, the tournament has transcended its memorable roots to become a platform for cultivating future champions.

More than 250 players from 36 Nigerian states will converge on Otan Ayegbaju, turning the city into a shining sporting hub.

Young prospects, seasoned professionals, veterans, para-athletes and deaf athletes will compete side by side. Categories range from U-15 single division to veteran, para, and deaf.

Beyond the competition, the tournament is expected to attract coaches, scouts, administrators and enthusiasts from across the country.

The sixth edition of the championship is scheduled to take place between April 12 and April 17, 2026.
