Oyo govt warns black market diesel sellers on Lagos-Ibadan road, demolishes buildings

The Oyo State Government has condemned the continued sale of fake diesel products at unlicensed outlets along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, describing it as unethical.

Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Architect Abdulmojeed Olawale Mogbonjubola, during a monitoring and enforcement exercise along the route ordered the demolition of all buildings housing β€œillegal traders” of diesel products.

The Commissioner, while addressing the illegal marketers, referred to his previous visit and warned about the need to stop the illegal trade of products along the axis.

He lamented the indifferent attitude of the vendors, despite several warnings regarding the State Government’s position on the illegal business.

In a similar development, Mogbonjubola has directed traders at the Fish Market located at Odo-Ona Kekere, in Ibadan to prioritize sanitation.

The Commissioner, during his visit, took the marketers to the black spots at the site, and warned against further dumping of waste, and advised them to engage the services of environmental consultants.
