A legal luminary, Dr Mike Ozekhome, SAN, has eulogised the immediate past Minister of State, Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, whom he described as a man who took Edo State by Storm through massive infrastructure development.
Ozekhome said that Agba achieved the unique feat during his tenure as the Minister of State for Budget and National Planning.
He spoke on Saturday at a well-attended reception as part of activities for the burial of Mrs Juliana Ajayi who died at the age of 118 years in Apana Uzairue.
Ozekhome said that Agba was an uncommon minister who performed beyond expectations, thereby breaking all known records of performance.
He said that Agba should simply be referred to as βthe man who took Edo State by Storm through infrastructure development.β
Earlier at Apana Community Centre Square, youths, men and women had gathered in large numbers with a traditional dance band to welcome Prince Agba to the community as he came to join his friend, Pastor Emma Ajayi, to bid farewell to his departed mother, who was popularly called βIyagbeβ.
At the Church Commendation Service, the eldest son of the late Mrs Juliana Ajayi described Prince Agba as the true son of Apana.
He recalled how Apana earnestly yearned for the construction of the Apana β Iraokhor Link Road until Prince Clem Agba facilitated budgetary provisions for it in the 2023 budget and ensured it was recently awarded and done to the admiration of all the people of Apana.
