PAP students worldwide organize educational summit

The National Association of Presidential Amnesty Students Worldwide (NAPASW) has organized a one-day educational summit with the theme key to capacity building and career Development in Niger Delta held at Nirvana Event center off Azikoro Road Ekeki, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

Speaking as a resource person, Prof.Ngoawaji Daniel, Provost Novena University, Ugume Delta State, admonished presidential amnesty programme students to see PAP as a veritable platform to develop themselves and become self reliant.

He noted that the world was moving beyond university degrees as such PAP graduands must expand their scope of knowledge to acquire employable skills.

Prof.Ngoawaji stated that PAP is a product of Isaac Jasper Adaka Boro twelve day revolution declaration to emancipate the people of Niger Delta from the jackbooth of the federal government.

He commended the interim administrator of PAP, retired General Barry Tariye Ndiomu for sustaining the various empowerment programmes of PAP while urging the interim administrator to institute saving scheme for the trainees to fall back on after their training.

In their separate presentations, Mr. Harry Porbeni emphasized need assessment in the Niger Delta, adding that PAP Students should be trained on employable skills in line with market demands.

On his part, the executive secretary, Bayelsa State Higher Education students loan board, Dr. Michael Amagberi noted that education is key to the contemporary world in order to foster societal development and carrier advancement of students.

Earlier in his remarks, the President,National Association of Presidential Amnesty Students Worldwide (NAPASW) Mr.Patrick Ipidei appealed that graduates of the programme should be rehabilitated and effectively reintegrated to the society.

He informed that the world has gone global and educational systems have moved from traditional to technological and requested for study gazettes such as laptops to enable them to carry out research in a competitive learning environment.

He express gratitude to the PAP boss for the various empowerment programmes for the beneficiaries to harness the potential of ex- agitators, which have changed their fortunes..
