The physically challenged coach made the request during an exclusive interview with Sports247 at the third National Paralympic Games in Abuja, which he said is a very good way to encourage people with disabilities to stay busy and earn a living.
While highlighting the long history of heroics and triumphs that the Kano football team has achieved over the years, Ibrahim posited that they need more support from their state government.
He assured that the payers are always determined to play and want the state to be proud of them by winning all their matches, but stressed that they need more attention from the Kano State government.
“We came here to play with determination and we pray to God to help us win this competition. We are happy to be here but we want our governor in Kano State to look at para-football and give us better things.
“We want the government to help the players and coaches so that our lives are better. We want them to help us so that those among us who are beggars stop begging on the streets.
“They should enhance parafootball and pay more attention to it so that we can enjoy it and take care of ourselves,” Ibrahim reiterated.
Sports247 further reports that the Kano State para-football team has a long track record of excellent results in national competitions at various venues across the country.
They are five-time winners of the World Polio Day Championship (2014-2019), silver medalists at the National Sports Festival in 2018 and two-time champions of the National Para-Football League (2016 and 2017).
