The athletes and officials of the sports contingents of Nigeria School returned home after an impressive performance at the sports games of the inaugural school in Algeria.

The team raised 25 medals in total and ended generally at the games.

According to the captain of the team Miracle Ezechukwu, “This is an international exhibition for us as athletes and we will go better in the future.

“I want to exploit this opportunity to thank the National Sports Commission that gave us the opportunity to represent our father. It is a rare opportunity and a dream comes to fly out of the country in green and white colors”.

“A long time ago I looked at the athletes who travel and I never knew that not only will I travel to represent Nigeria, but also the captain of Nigeria”.

“I am very proud of my successes who won two gold medals and one silver at the competition,” he said.

The team’s success of the team in Algeria has further deepened the National Sports Commission Grassroots Drive with all the athletes who are the product of the IJA concept (invited Junior Athletes).

They were all explored at the National Sports Festival in the state of Ogun at the beginning of this year and in Algeria most of them won medals for the nation.

Nigeria will be the guest of the 2nd edition of the Games in 2027 after winning the offer from the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (Anoca).
