Pat Utomi criticized the FG economy priority, an exclamation for investment in the productive sector

Economist and Public Affairs Analyst, Professor Pat Utomi, has blamed the direction of the federal government, accused him of prioritizing the non-productive sector, especially political classes, for investment in sectors that directly affected the lives of ordinary Nigerians.

Speaking during interviews about politics today, a television program channel aired on Friday, Utomi said the focus of the government on generation income was counterproductive and the increasingly difficult economy.

“Most of the non-productive sectors, political classes, for example, receive disproportionate national resources. What we need is the transfer of resources to increase food production and develop agricultural value chains,” he said.

Utomi warned that although there was a marginal increase in currency stability and efforts to curb inflation, these indicators had not been translated into concrete benefits for the average Nigerians.

“If you are from hell to the purification fire, have you been saved from the curse?” He asked, questioning the narrative that suggested the economy in the recovery track.

He argues that true economic progress must be measured by job creation, increased productivity, and affordability of important goods and services.

“Food is the best. When people cannot eat, anything can happen,” he said, emphasizing the need for targeted investments in agriculture, education, and health care to secure long -term stability and growth.
